This textbook is intended for groups in which education is conducted in the Uzbek language for the subject of literature, and is based on the model program and model curriculum recommended by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education. The textbook fully covers all topics based on the plan for the course of study. The textbook provides examples from the life, work and selected works of major representatives of Uzbek and world literature. Special emphasis is placed on questions and tasks that encourage understanding of the content and essence of the work and logical thinking. Fragments of works of art directly related to current topics are given, which are aimed at developing the student's independent thinking by comparing classical and modern literature and masterpieces of world literature with today.
